I took Farrah out at twilight this morning. She is still molting and high in weight. I took her to the "Tweener" field, so called because it's situated between a couple of industrial plants out west of town. It was about 65F and clear with little wind. Farrah was ready to go, even as heavy as she is. 860 this morning, more than an ounce heavy but I'll keep her that way until she molts out. Nice thing about Harris's hawks, her field response is great even very high in weight. There wasn't much game moving but we had a rabbit chase, a dove chase, and she nearly caught a cotton rat.
Couple of pictures from before the hunt. She rode to field on the back of the passenger car seat.
