Bad season so far even for Houston. One cotton rat, one temporarily lost pup in the last two hunts. Will be a tough season for my two second year apprentices who will be trying to get their falconry skills honed so they can upgrade next summer. Gotta have some game to make a game hawk. Nothing today.
Last year by this time, we had 2 swamp rabbits, 3 cottontail's, and 23 cotton rats. Lots of chases. A year ago today Cisco opened his season with a swamp rabbit. This season 3 cotton rats, and 2 cottontail. Very few chases.
